Missionaries and Rhumeries :D (Week 86)

Dear Family and Friends,

This week was a great week here. We had some cool experiences (like always) and some less cool experiences (like always) and had a great time in experiencing them both! Update on investigators: Stanley from Haiti. He is doing well and has a great desire to know if the book of mormon is true. He wasn’t able to come to church this last sunday so that was a bummer. He has a baptismal date for the 27 of June. Excited.

My old branch president (Fr Occolier just had his second son), and for all of you that don’t know him it is ok. Just a little cool thing that happened this week.

This last Sunday (yesterday), we had a big party (not really a party) with some Tahitians that Elder Sejournet got in contact with and a muslim family (see pictures below). The tahitians brought tahitian food and the muslim family made there muslim stuff. 😀 It was cool to see all these different cultures/religions group up and talk like humans (which rarely happens when religion is the subject).

Today we went to the Rhumerie! That is where they make rum! Yeah, yeah,

I bet you are wondering what a whole island of missionaries are doing there…But we were there for a tree that had cool big vines you could swing on. 😉 But that place smells heavily of rum and rotten cane sugar. And yeah…

I just want to bear my testimony again that I know that the church is true. I know that we can have peace in this life and eternal life in the world to come in following the perfect and complete gospel of Jesus Christ which can only be found in His church. Which happens to be The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know it is true without a doubt. I love you all and have a great week! Talk to you next week.

-Love,
Elder Ehlert
